My main goal was to illustrate the stark contrast between Pearl’s perspective on her potential of becoming a movie star versus its grim reality. While the overall composition depicts an audience praising Pearl at the end of a performance, the details reveal the real carnage around her. One hidden element is her shadow which reveals a pitchfork in her hands. I wanted to incorporate this as a shadow in the spotlight to symbolize how she was so blinded by potential fame she didn’t even realize the bloodbath she created. I used this poster to convey how her murderous acts and hunger for stardom blend together.
