I created this poster for season 1 of the Netflix original show, YOU.

I wanted to fully immerse the viewer into the mind of a stalker. In the first season, Joe is completely consumed by his obsession for Beck. At the start of the show, Joe encounters her at a bookstore. I wanted to play off this scene and capture his initial fascination with Beck. I tightened the composition with the bookshelves to bring the focus on Joe’s laser focused eyes, emphasizing how he can’t see anything else but her. I also took inspiration from Joe’s inner dialogue where he constantly talks directly to Beck, referring to her as “you” in his head. To reflect this in my poster, I hid “you” in the background and incorporated it across the books. My goal with this poster was to encapsulate his inescapable thoughts of Beck that drives him crazy.
